PROJECT: “Home-made 24/7  ”

“The design studio’s objective is to tackle the issues of technology as it relates to architecture. ‘Technology’ will be considered on both a theoretical/conceptual level, as well as on an application/performance level.  Investigation and invention will be at the core of the design studio.  Integration of: design concepts, manufacturability, sustainability, material development, logistics, modularization, transportation, dismantling and re-erecting, climate adaptability, flexibility, function efficiency, design eloquence, social and cultural relevance, sensitivity, sensuality.”

My conceptual approach to the course was to maximize the idea of sustainable systems, being translated to space and combining provision systems to multiple programs and needs. One thing is always servicing multiple purposes. That is why the program allocation phase took place after a deep program analysis. The needs of the program would always be the priority of the design process. The structural and flow systems were tested and decided also in relation to this concept.
